Paint watercolor in Collioure, September 29, 2026

A heartfelt welcome to this delightful in-person, half-day workshop, where you’ll have the chance to develop your watercolor painting skills in the enchanting surroundings that inspired the artists Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and Aristide Maillol. The course is suitable both to those who are new to the medium and to plein air painting, and to those with previous experience. 

Throughout the course, you’ll learn various painting techniques while basking in the soft early autumn light of the Mediterranean, listening to the sound of the waves hitting the pebbles. The surroundings of Château Royal de Collioure, where we’ll be painting, hold a special place in Catalan´s cultural heritage, with its beautiful backdrop against the Pyrenees. 

Date and time: September 29, 2026, 15:00–18:00.

Location: We’ll meet by the stairs next to the north-facing side of Château Royal de Collioure*, and either paint on location from there, or depending on the participant´s wishes, walk to find a beautiful spot around the corner of the castle. The walk takes no more than 2 minutes, and the route to the castle is easily accessible.

Setting: The workshop takes place outdoors.

Group size: Maximum of six participants.

Level: Suitable for beginners as well as those with previous experience. If you are new to watercolor painting, the focus will be on fundamental techniques in plein air painting. If you have previous experience, the focus will shift to creating more realistic paintings.

Materials: All course materials are provided. Please bring a water bottle for mixing paints, as well as something to sit on (a seat pad, blanket or camping chair).

Other equipment: Dress for the weather. In case of rain, please bring an umbrella to sit under. 

Catering: Coffee or tea and dark chocolate are included. Bring plenty of water, as it can get hot during the afternoon. 

Booking: Advance booking is required. Last day for reservation is September 22, 2026.

Cancellation and refunds: Registration is binding and non-refundable. In the event of illness, rebooking to a later available date is possible subject to availability. In this case, please contact me.

Should the event be cancelled due to weather conditions, you will be offered the option of rebooking for another date or a refund.
